As social media becomes more and more popular, job seekers are providing links to their outlets via their resume. Some people just put Twitter handles, others blog links, and most widely, Linked In links. By providing these links you are allowing the employer to more easily learn about you and read you from seeing your social media content.
In providing a Linked In link you are allowing employers to see what wasn’t able to fit on your resume, endorsements and reviews of your work. Some even go so far as to put a QR code on their resume, which employers can scan with their smart phone and it will bring them right to the web address. Of course, again it is a question of audience. If you will be interviewing with executives that struggle using their cell-phone, avoid including a QR code. On the other hand, if you are applying to a hip-tech company like Google, definitely include a QR code.
